Terms of service

The terms for using ForestrPro's website, app, server and dashboard.

Last updated: 28 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use the ForestrPro website, the ForestrPro Android app, or a ForestrPro account with its server and web dashboard ("the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. The service is provided by Chris Docherty, trading as ForestrPro, of 17 Drummossie Road, IV2 7AN, United Kingdom. Contact: info@forestrpro.com.

Businesses with a ForestrPro subscription are also bound by the Business Software Subscription and Licence Agreement, which covers plans, fees, payment and data processing. Where the two differ, the licence agreement applies to the subscribing business.

2. Accounts

  • Give an email address you control, and keep your password private. You're responsible for what's done with your account.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it. You can change your password at any time; doing so signs out your other devices.

3. Teams and your data

  • Your data stays yours. Records, maps and other content you or your team add remain yours or your team's. You give us permission to store and process that content only to provide the service.
  • Roles. A team's owner controls its membership and roles. Owners and managers can see the team's tasks, projects, activity history and, while members share it, their location.
  • Your right to share. Only upload maps and data you have the right to use and share with your team.

4. Location sharing, lone working and risk assessments

Location sharing is optional, and each member switches it on and off themselves. Positions depend on the phone's GPS and signal, and may be delayed or missing.

Lone working check-ins and alerts help a team notice when someone may need help, but they depend on phones, signal, email and the server, any of which can fail or be delayed. ForestrPro is not a man-down device or an emergency service. In an emergency call 999 (or 112), and keep your own lone working procedures.

Risk assessments in ForestrPro are written by your team's owners and managers. ForestrPro stores, shares and records signatures for them; it doesn't check that an assessment is suitable or sufficient, and the common hazards it offers are only suggestions to start from.

5. Using the service in forestry work

  • Check the information. Maps, GPS positions, measurements, coordinate transformations and imported data can be inaccurate. Check them where it matters.
  • Your obligations still apply. ForestrPro doesn't replace your safety procedures, risk assessments, permits and licences, or regulatory obligations, or the judgement of the people on site.
  • Recorded value isn't a payment. It is a calculation from the rates you enter, not approved earnings or a payment.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service. In particular, don't:

  • try to access data or teams you're not a member of;
  • interfere with the service or overload it;
  • upload malicious files;
  • use location sharing to track anyone without their knowledge.

We may suspend accounts that do.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running, but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. The app keeps working offline, and work recorded on the phone is kept until it can be sent. We may change or improve the service, and will update these terms when we do.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, the service is provided as it is, and we're not liable for indirect losses or for decisions made on the basis of information in the service.

9. Ending

You can stop using the service at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing info@forestrpro.com. Team data you've added may remain with your team where the team needs it, for example task history.

The ForestrPro name and logo, the apps, the web dashboard, the Desktop GIS's own additions, this website and its content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You may use them only to use the service under these terms: don't copy, modify, resell or redistribute them, or take apart the apps except where the law allows it. Your own records and maps stay yours (section 3). Open-source parts are under their own licences, listed in the apps.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the courts of Scotland have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory legal requirements (for example, a consumer's right to bring proceedings where they live).
