Create a job

Plan any kind of forestry work in a few simple steps: the type of work, the details, where it is, and who does it.

  1. Choose Create a job: in the dashboard it's on the left and on Home; in the app it's on Home and Jobs. The steps are the same in both.
  2. Type of work: pick what you're planning, such as tree planting, windblown tree clearance, tree felling, vegetation clearance, a tree inspection or a vegetation survey.
  3. Details: give the job a name, and for cutting and clearance work say what needs doing (with any hazards), when it must be finished and how urgent it is.
  4. Location: mark the spot on the map, draw the work area, use where you're standing, or choose a forest and compartment. You can skip this.
  5. Who: choose the team and the project the job belongs to. Owners and managers can tick who will do it (or leave it for anyone in the team to take); members can take it themselves. A planting job or survey can also be just yours.
  6. For planting, add each species with how many trees to plant and the rate per tree.
  7. Check and create: look over everything, choose Change to correct anything, then Create job.

The job opens straight away, and reaches the team's phones at their next sync. What you've entered is kept while you go, so you can go back a step, or create a team first, without losing it. If the connection drops, nothing is lost: choose Try again.
