Publish map layers from the desktop

Draw compartments, planting areas, routes and other forestry layers in Desktop GIS, then publish them to the project for the dashboard and the app.

  1. Open the project in the ForestrPro pane. Its working copy is kept on your computer and saved every 30 seconds while you work.
  2. On the ForestrPro tab, choose a layer type under Forestry Layers, such as Boundaries → Compartments or Planting → Planting areas. The layer comes with its fields and values.
  3. Draw and edit features on the Edit tab, and fill in their attributes in the attribute table.
  4. Choose Publish Changes. Areas and lengths are measured and sent with the features.

The layers then show on the dashboard's project page and map, and the field team gets them in the app with Prepare for offline. Publishing needs the owner or manager role in the team.
