ForestrPro runs on Android phones and tablets with Android 8.0 or later. You don't need an account for mapping, planting, cutting or surveys. An account is only needed to work with a team.
First steps
- Install ForestrPro and open it.
- When Android asks about location, choose While using the app and keep Precise switched on. ForestrPro uses your phone's GPS to show where you are; approximate location isn't accurate enough.
- When asked about notifications, choose Allow. ForestrPro shows a notification while it records a GPS track or shares your location, with a button to stop.
- You land on Home. Tap Create a job to plan your first piece of work.
Tip: to see how everything looks before you add real work, load the sample data.
What works offline
Everything you record is saved on the phone straight away, so you can work with no signal at all. Only these need a connection:
- the online base map (imported PDF maps work offline)
- signing in, and sending team work to your team
- sharing your location with your team
