- On Map, tap the tools button (Tools: record track, measure, draw, navigate).
- Under GPS track, give it a Track name if you like, and tap Start recording.
- Walk your route. Recording carries on with the screen off, and a notification shows it's running. Every point is saved as it's recorded.
- Use Pause recording and Resume recording on the map as needed.
- When you're done, tap Finish track, then Finish.
Your saved tracks
Go to Records → GPS tracks. For each track you can Show or Hide it on the map, Rename it, Export GPX (to email it or open it in QGIS or Google Earth), or delete it. Deleted tracks can be restored from deleted tracks at the bottom of the list.
Long recordings stopping? Some phones stop apps to save battery, even with a notification showing. Tap Open app settings on the GPS tracks screen and set ForestrPro's battery use to Unrestricted.
Planters can also record their movements as part of a planting session. See Record trees while you plant.
