Create a forest and its compartments

Set up a forest, draw its boundary and add numbered compartments on the map, so your work and records are organised by place.

Create the forest

  1. Go to Records → Forests and compartments and tap New forest.
  2. Enter the Forest name and tap Save.
  3. On the forest's card, tap Draw boundary. Move the map so the crosshair sits on a corner and tap Add at crosshair (or GPS to use where you're standing). Go round the boundary corner by corner.
  4. Tap Finish.

Tip: when you create a planting job or a task, you can make a forest straight from an imported map. See Create a planting job.

Add compartments

  1. On the forest's card, tap Add compartment. (Or on Map: Add to map → Compartment.)
  2. Draw the compartment's boundary the same way, at least 3 corners, then tap Finish.
  3. Enter the Compartment number, and optionally a name and whether it's a Sub-compartment of another one.
  4. Tap Save. The area is worked out from the boundary.

Open a compartment to see its features, the maps covering it and its Work history. From there you can Edit, Redraw boundary or Archive it. Archiving hides it but keeps its history.
