- In the dashboard, go to Reports → Felling licence maps, and choose the forest. Its compartments come from Records → Forests.
- Choose where you're Applying in: England (Forestry Commission), Scotland (Scottish Forestry) or Wales (Natural Resources Wales).
- Tick the compartments in the application, and choose each one's operation: clearfell, selective felling, thinning, restocking or another operation. Labels must match your application's felling and restocking tables.
- Tap Set the access point, then tap the map where the area is reached from the road or track.
- Fill in the Map details: title, applicant or agent, reference, paper size and scale.
- Download what you need: Application map (PDF), Application map (JPEG), Spatial data for Felling Licence Online (zip) and the Felling table (CSV).
The map is drawn at true scale with a legend, north arrow, scale bar, the boundary, labels, the access point, and OS grid references of the centre and the access point. Before making the Felling Licence Online file, ForestrPro checks its rules: British National Grid, the comp, subcomp and totalha fields, polygons only, one part per sub-compartment, no boundary crossing itself and no repeats. Anything to fix is listed first.
ForestrPro prepares the maps and data; you still submit the application yourself, and the authority decides on it. Check the map against your application before you send it.
