Use the GIS in your browser

Open a project's map layers in the GIS from the dashboard, edit them in your browser with nothing to install, and publish them to your team.

  1. Sign in to the dashboard, open your team and choose Projects.
  2. Open a project and choose Open in the web GIS. (The GIS tab opens it on your list of projects instead.)
  3. The GIS opens in the same tab, already signed in, with the project's shared layers and field tasks.
  4. Add forestry layers from the ForestrPro tab, draw and edit them on the Edit tab, then choose Publish Changes.
  5. Choose Back to dashboard in the ForestrPro pane when you're done.

It works in a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer. The first visit downloads the map engine (12 to 37 MB), so it can take a minute on a slow connection; later visits use the copy your browser keeps.

Your unpublished changes are kept in this browser as a draft and come back when you open the project again here. They aren't on other computers until you publish them, and a very large project may be too big to keep as a draft: the GIS says so, and you should publish.
