Start lone working

Tell your team you're working alone and how often you'll check in. If you miss a check-in, your managers and emergency contact are emailed with your last position.

  1. In the app, tap Working alone? Start lone working on Home, or go to More → Lone working. In the dashboard, choose Lone working.
  2. Choose the Team whose owners and managers should be alerted.
  3. Say Where you are and what you're doing, and choose how often to Check in every.
  4. Optionally add an Emergency contact: their name, email (alerted with your managers) and phone.
  5. Tap Start lone working. Starting needs a signal.

When a check-in is due, your phone reminds you. Tap I'm OK, in the app or straight from the notification. If you don't check in within 5 minutes of it being due, the team's owners and managers and your emergency contact are emailed with your last position and a map link. The email is repeated every 30 minutes until someone acknowledges it. Tap End lone working when you finish for the day.

Lone working helps your team notice when something may be wrong. It doesn't replace your own safety procedures or the emergency services. In an emergency, call 999 (or 112) first.
