Where your data is kept

Your records are saved on your phone first. Find out what is kept with your account on the server, what your team sees, and what stays on the phone.

ForestrPro is built to work in the forest with no signal, so everything is saved on the phone first, the moment you record it.

Without an account

Everything stays on your phone.

Signed in: kept with your account

Your records sync with your account, so they're on every phone you sign in on and in the web dashboard:

  • forests and compartments, pins, trees and vegetation records with their inspections, surveys and drawings
  • planting jobs with their species, rates, sessions and counts, and timber stacks
  • finished GPS tracks, and photos of pins and inspections

Only you see them, unless a record is in a team project: then your team sees it too. Changes made offline wait on the phone and sync when there's a connection; a change made on two devices is merged, and nothing is overwritten unseen.

Shared with your team

  • your account and profile
  • tasks and job progress in a team project, with their notes and photos, and records in a team project
  • maps and layers shared with a project
  • your position, only while you share your location

Stays on your phone

Imported maps and GIS files, unless you share them with a project.

Uninstalling ForestrPro deletes what's stored only on the phone. Export anything you want to keep first: see Export your records to QGIS and Record a GPS track. Read the full privacy policy.
